Lace Wigs: Buy Lace Wigs

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

There are plenty of reasons to wear and buy lace wigs. Full Lace wigs and lace front wigs are more popular, affordable and available than ever. There are a few reasons that every woman may want to consider purchasing these fabulous lace units as an addition to their style.

For those who are going natural, purchasing a full lace wig is a great protective style. Many women who are in the process of transitioning from relaxed to natural hair require protective styles. These styles help to prevent breakage to the sensitive demarcation line between the two hair textures. While a lace wig or any hair extension is what many natural hair wearers are trying to get away from, it may be the best solution to their natural hair journey. A full lace wig covers all of the natural hair so it will not be bothered. Also, if the natural hair is put into braids it can assist in hair growth.

Another great reason to buy a lace wig is to experiment with color and length. Many women want to try a drastic cut or color yet are afraid to take the plunge. With a full lace wig, this is possible without a long term commitment. Full lace wigs and lace front wigs can be buyd in any color imaginable. It can be cut, curled or crimped any way you want.

An added advantage of the lace front wig is the realistic appearance. If you do not want to invest such a large amount in a full lace wig but want to try out a new style, you can buy a lace front wig. The lace front wig allows the wearer to see what they will look like if they actually colored or cut their own hair since it is without the bumps and lumps of a traditional weave.

For women who are suffering from alopecia, severe hair damage or thinning hair, the innovation of lace wigs have been a life saver. Full lace wigs and lace front wigs are not an entirely new innovation. These lace wigs have been around for years as a celebrity secret and for women suffering from hair loss. For people who have hair damage, the design of the lace wig is beneficial.

Pakistan seeks identity of American suspect

Monday, March 8th, 2010

ISLAMABAD – An American member of al-Qaida was picked up in a raid in Pakistan’s southern city of Karachi, Pakistani officials said Monday, but reversed earlier assertions that the detained man was the terror network’s U.S.-born spokesman.

They identified the suspect as Abu Yahya Majadin Adam, but gave no details on his background or role within al-Qaida.

A name very close to that is listed on the FBI’s Web site as an alias for Adam Gadahn, the 31-year-old spokesman who has appeared in several videos threatening the West since 2001. The resemblance created confusion among officials Sunday, leading them to believe that the suspect was Gadahn, an army officer and a senior intelligence officer said.

“The resemblance of the name initially caused confusion but now they have concluded he is not Gadahn,” said an intelligence officer, who like all Pakistani intelligence agents does not allow his name to be used. “He feels proud to be a member of al-Qaida.”

U.S. Embassy spokesman Rick Snelsire said the embassy had not been informed of any American being arrested.

On Sunday, two intelligence officers and a senior government official identified the detained man as Gadahn and said he was arrested in recent days. They too spoke on condition of anonymity. The government official said his name could not be used because of the sensitivity of the information. None of those officials were available for comment Monday.

U.S. defense, intelligence and law enforcement officials could not verify Sunday that Gadahn was the one detained.

Pakistan is under intense U.S. pressure to arrest al-Qaida and Taliban leaders living on its soil.

Last month, the country arrested the Afghan Taliban No. 2 commander, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, in Karachi. Officials have also claimed to have detained other leaders in the movement. News of the arrests has been murky, coming primarily through Pakistani and Afghan officials speaking anonymously. None of the suspects have been presented before a court or charged.

Baradar’s detention and the other reported arrests have been seen as a sign that Pakistan, which has been criticized in the past as an untrustworthy ally in the fight against al-Qaida and the Taliban, was cooperating more fully with Washington.

Asked about the arrest in Karachi, Interior Minister Rehman Malik cited unspecified reports that “some foreigners have been arrested two days back” and that he had asked for more information on their identities from the intelligence agencies, which operate largely outside of the control of the civilian government.

Pakistani agents and those from the CIA work closely on some operations in Pakistan, but it was unclear if any Americans were involved in the recent operation in Karachi or were questioning the suspect. In the past, Pakistan has quietly handed over some al-Qaida suspects arrested on its soil to the United States.

The arrest of an American militant in Pakistan would be another example of U.S. citizens traveling abroad to join al-Qaida and the Taliban. Security analyst say such militants, while small in number, are especially dangerous because of their ability to travel the world more easily on a Western passport.

In December, Pakistani police arrested five young U.S. Muslims who they allege were trying to link up with militants.

Gadahn, the first American to face treason charges in more than 50 years, has appeared in more than a half-dozen al-Qaida videos, taunting the West and calling for its destruction. A video that surfaced Sunday showed him urging American Muslims to attack the U.S.

He has been on the FBI’s most wanted list since 2004 and there is a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest. He was charged with treason in 2006 and faces the death penalty if convicted. He was also charged with two counts of providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.

It's Too Late to Save Sears, Matthews Says

Friday, September 11th, 2009

The long awaited turnaround story at Sears may never happen. Why? Because reclusive hedge fund impresario and Sears Holding Corp. Chairman Edward Lampert doesn’t know to run a retail business, says Jeff Matthews of hedge fund RAM Partners.

After Sears posted a surprise quarterly loss, a Barron’s report on August 24 stated the stock could fall another 50%. Lampert shot back with a letter claiming the article was “inaccurate” and “biased.”

Matthews says facts are facts: Shopping at Sears remains a lackluster experience, five years after Lampert bought the company and merged it with Kmart. “They’ve totally lost touch with the American consumer,” says Matthews, who has no position in Sears stock.

Here’s what bothers him about Lampert’s management of the once fabled retailer:

Lack of investment in stores. “The stores are terrible; they don’t look any better than they did five years ago. In fact, they look worse.” Matthews notes Wal-Mart spends tens of billions a year on stores, while Sears is spending about $200 million. That’s no way to compete.
No retail expert at the helm. For more than 18 months, Sears has had an “interim” CEO, Matthews notes. Until they hire someone more permanent with retail know-how they’re doomed, he says. “I kept waiting for five years: when is he going to hire the guy? Never happened.”
Will it ever?

GM Offers Refund to Car Buyers to Win Them Back

Friday, September 11th, 2009

MILWAUKEE – Looking to regain consumers’ trust, General Motors Co. said Thursday new car buyers will be able to return their vehicles within two months of purchase for a full refund, part of a long-awaited new marketing campaign for the biggest American automaker.

The effort will begin next week, seeking to make connections again with American consumers who may be leery of the company since it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this year. Chairman Edward Whitacre Jr. will appear in the initial burst of ads, telling consumers in a folksy, Texan accent he too had doubts about GM when he joined on this summer. But he likes the cars he found, and consumers should too.

The company’s bid to win back customers is a last-ditch effort to survive. GM received $50 billion in government aid to keep operating earlier this year and it has to pay that back to continue operating. To do that, it must sell cars.

And to make those sales, GM has to change how consumers view it in the marketplace. That starts with showing GM’s cars are better than competitors, said GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz, who delayed retirement to head GM’s marketing efforts. He said there is a “monumental chasm” between the public’s perception of GM’s vehicles and the autos in its current lineup, and the “May the Best Car Win” effort aims to change that.

The company stands behind its cars now and can offer full money-back guarantees, he told reporters on a conference call Thursday. As recently as three years ago, GM would have been faced with a huge risk if it made such an offer, but the company’s slate of models is strong and can take on any competitors, especially foreign-made cars, he said.

“We really are in a position today where we can look anybody in the eye and say ‘we are as good as or better than everybody else,’” Lutz said.

To prove that, GM is putting its four remaining brands — Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC — directly against foreign competitors, focusing on quality, performance, fuel economy and design. The Chevrolet Equinox will be featured in advertisements directly compared to the Honda CRV, and Cadillacs will target German luxury vehicles, Lutz said.

Whitacre’s appearance in the ads will be short-lived as GM shifts focus to its brands, away from the corporation, Lutz said. Individual campaigns for the brands will share common elements but the GM logo and the words GM will not appear, he said. Instead, the brands will be the true focus, since consumers’ perception of GM is affected by the company’s bankruptcy filing this year.

“We are emancipating the brands and trotting them out in the open,” Lutz said.

GM will allow customers who purchase a new vehicle starting next Monday through Nov. 30 to return it, no questions asked, for a full refund within 31 to 60 days from the date of purchase. The vehicles must not have more than 4,000 miles on them and the drivers must be current on their payments. Cars will also be under GM’s 100,000-mile five-year powertrain warranty.

The offer applies to brands such as Chevrolet, GMAC, Buick and Cadillac. The Pontiac brand, which GM is phasing out, is not eligible. Leased vehicles are also ineligible.

Brad and Angelina Find Their Dream Home

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

I often ogle the homes of Brad and Angelina and their brood of six as they jet-set around the world filming high profile movies. They’re supposedly spending the summer on the North Shore of Long Island just outside of Manhattan, and locals are reporting seeing them everywhere from bagel shops to the supermarket. They’re allegedly renting Rupert Murdoch’s home on Centre Island.

But word is out that the family may have finally settled on a home of their own. According to The Mirror, the couple just wrote a whopping check for 35 million pounds (about $58 million) — for a 35 bedroom (YES, 35 BEDROOM!), 1,000 acre estate in Provence. (Sigh! To be beautiful and to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world!)

Apparently, the golden couple plans to spend a bundle more renovating the 17th-century chateau, called Chateau Miraval, making many of the rooms more modern. Mr. and Mrs. Glitz also plan to add a new gym, a wine bar, a jacuzzi, steamroom and spa, as well as a motorbike track for Brad (and Maddox, Pax and Knox, of course). They’d been renting the house for the last year.

Get a peek at their new home after the jump.

It’s not surprising that they chose the south of France as their home base. Angelina’s mother was French Canadian, and Brad has said that their children are able to lead a more normal life there. Now he just has to learn the language — Apparently, the actor is struggling with capturing that certain je ne sais quoi.

A local developer told The Mirror, “They want to make sure this very romantic property becomes the love nest of all love nests.”
